Personal Statement

Welcome to my profile. My name is Arielle Reddick, I am currently a junior at John Jay High School East Fishkill. I pride myself on my work ethic particularly with softball. I always do my absolute best to be a leader on every single team I am on, and adapt to the needs of the team. I’m a firm believer in that there is always room for improvement, so I spend most of my free time practicing whether with friends, family, catching during a pitchers lesson, setting up a tee and net, or exercising to improve my speed and strength. I believe what sets me apart from other athletes is my willingness to take on any challenge and my ability to adapt to the needs of my team. Just a few years ago, my school coach expressed that he was in need of a catcher. I immediately told him that I would be happy to learn the position, not only because learning new skills in all aspects of life is important to me, but also because I personally believe that being a great team player requires you to step up and do whatever you can to support your team. I fell in love with catching, and continue to strive to be the best catcher I can be. I thoroughly enjoy working with different pictures because it has given me the ability to better adjust to different pitching styles. On my school team I am starting catcher and for my travel team I start in different positions such as catcher, shortstop, and second base.I feel I thrive in these positions because I am extremely comfortable facilitating plays and communicating with my team. I am also very capable of playing outfield, third and first, as I have made sure to learn as many positions as possible in order to be the best asset to my team.

My work ethic also goes beyond the field, as I also focus on my education. Sometimes that requires studying on the drive to and from practice and games, but it has given me the ability to time manage extremely well. My time management skills has helped me keep my grades up, while playing 2 varsity sports and playing travel ball.

I look forward to hearing back from any interested coaches. Thank you so much for taking the time to view my profile and I look forward to hearing back from you.
