My promise is to do my 1/9th...
My name is Isabella Maynard and I want to play collegiate softball. Throughout my youth, I excelled in sports such as swimming, taekwondo, and gymnastics. These sports required me to be dedicated, committed, and develop an inner drive to constantly get better. Softball was the first team sport that I took an instant liking to. It combined all the skills and work ethic I learned in previous sports, but now focus on the team.
I love everything about the game - working as a team, the travel, the schedule, practice, learning new skills, overcoming challenges, discipline, and at the end of it all, making lifelong friendships. I want nothing more but to keep my love of the sport moving forward and playing for a college/university someday. Division I is the dream, but more importantly, graduating with a degree and being able to represent my school would make me so proud.
I believe my background in individual sports has trained me to always perfect my individual skills. Becoming a softball player has taught me the value of the team as a whole. As long as I do my 1/9th of the job while on the field, our team will be successful. I know I have what it takes to be successful at all levels, I'm just looking for a program who will believes in me.
