My Name is Alyssa Balfe and i am currently attending Oriskany High School in Central New York. I am a junior (class of 2012)and i have started to look for my perfect match in a college. It has also been a dream of mine to play softball at the collegiate level. Wherever i may land i am planning on majoring in Marketing, Sports Management/Administration, or just Management. I received a 1390 on my sat with a 500 in critical reading and a 470 in the math section. I will be retaking the SAT again in October to improve on these scores. I hold a 3.4 average or an 87 currently in my classes. I am President of Varsity club, a member of Sportsmanship Committee, Student Council member, and French Club Vice President. Getting a good education is very important to me. School comes first and if i am able to play softball at the same time it is not only a privilege but a bonus. I love Softball more than anything in the world. I have played a combined 12 years of baseball and softball and i have been a catcher all of my life. I have not wanted to do anything other that play softball at a big level. It has been a dream of mine ever since i was a little girl. My secondary positions are SS, and 3B. I also occasionally DH or play first base for my summer travel team. I not only play softball but i also play soccer and basketball, and have been playing all 3 of these sports since 9th grade on the Varsity level. As well as playing on the varsity level in these sports i am a captain on each of these teams. I was even a captain in softball since my sophomore season. I have had playoff experience every year that i have been apart of the team, and i was also a Section III Champion along with my team in my freshman season as a starting catcher. This season as a junior we moved up a class, but we were still able to make it all the way to the semi-finals. My travel softball team is the Utica Sluggers, and my head coach is Jerry Albanese
(315-520-4401). We are apart of 5-7 tournaments a summer. Last summer we were New York State Champion qualifiers and were able to get a bid to the 16u National ASA tournament in Dayton Ohio. This summer we are moving up to 18u and are going to be involved in 5 tournaments. I will do anything to help out my ball club, even if that means playing a position that i am not very familiar with or that i have never played before. Playing college softball and getting a great education is my ultimate goal. My email is
