Personal Statement
I began playing sports at a young age and quickly realized that softball was my passion. By the time I was in second grade, I was practicing daily in the backyard with my dad. We would hit, toss, and I would practice catching. My Christmas lists always included something softball related in order to better my skills. I played Rec ball for the first 3 years. By 4th grade, I realized I needed to play at a higher level, play with more serious teams, and play as much as I possibly could. I started that year with my current personal coach, Richard Finley. He worked mainly with hitting at first, but we have now started including catching, fielding, and ball placement. I have been playing travel ball since 4th grade and have played with Queen City Crush ‘06, Cincy Slammers “06, and am currently with Cincy Doom ‘06 - Steele. I bat and throw right handed and am used by my coaches in many positions. My primary position has always been catcher, but this year, my coach has encouraged me to put as much time into shortstop. I am also able to play outfield, and am considered a utility player by my team. I am a speedy and smart baserunner. As a fielder, I am keenly aware of the situation, and am always ready for a challenging play. I have proven to be a coachable, honest, and hardworking player. I have maintained my humble attitude while continuing to use my strengths to better my team.
