Unlike many girls, I haven't played softball since tee ball or coach pitch. I started as a seventh grader in the KABC rec league. After closing the door on my competitive gymnastics career, my father introduced me to the sport. Ever since, I have been crazy about it. Through playing softball, I have become a much more outgoing person. Softball has given me an edge that I apply to all aspects of my life; school, sports, clubs, and jobs. Because of the sport, I am a more well-rounded, driven, and friendly person; I have even met some of my best friends through softball. In High School, I am working hard to obtain both an academic and athletic scholarship to college, though I have not chosen one. In college, I will study Pre Med and will eventually become a General and Cardio Thoracic Surgeon. I have been fortunate enough to not have many obstacles, but I have made it through a few. While competing in gymnastics, I injured my back, and was out for the better half of my season recovering. Once I recovered, things never felt the same for me in gymnastics. So I finished the rest of the season and said goodbye to the sport I thought I would pursue through college. But one door closed and another one opened. I am so lucky to have softball, and because of it, I am truly a better person.
