Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Kaia Bonshock. I am a member of the class of 2018 at Shamokin Area High School in Shamokin, Pennsylvania. I am a left-handed first baseman, as well as catcher and outfielder. Despite the perceived disadvantage of being a left-handed catcher, I excel at the position, having been named Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic Conference Division 1 First Team Catcher in this, my freshman year. Over the years I've played for various teams around the state and excelled on each of them. One word to describe me would definitely be relentless. I consider myself a leader on and off the field. My motto is, "Today I will do what others won't, so tomorrow I can do what others can't." I wish to attend a program where my teammates have the same passion, desire and commitment as I have. Although athletics have always been important to me, academics are my number one priority in making my college commitment decision. I would like to attain a collegiate experience where I can become educated to prepare me for the rest of my life, while thriving as a softball player.
