Personal Statement
Having the opportunity to play softball has had a great impact on my life. It has taught me many important lessons such as being respectful, having self-control, being self-motivated, showing leadership, maintaining life balance, making friends, and being supportive.
Throughout the years I have really evolved as a player. I have always hit for high average with doubles power to the alleys. I draw a lot of walks, pride myself on being a smart, aggressive base runner, and am always a threat to steal. Within the past year I have been trying to incorporate more drag bunting and slapping into my game to further diversify my offensive skill set. My primary position is CF, but I've had success at 2B and 1B as well. Defensively, speed, a reliable glove, and always thinking ahead of the play are my greatest attributes. Following my sophomore season, I was honored and humbled to be named to the Division II North, 3rd Team All Division team, and awarded the batting championship for my varsity team.
Playing softball at the next level is very important to me. I love the game and want it to be a big part of my life for years to come. It is equally important that I find a school and program that is as good an academic fit as it is athletically. The opportunity to learn a life-long skill and play a game that I love would be a great experience. I believe that I not only have the ability to play at the next level but have the ability to contribute to a team on and off the field. I welcome the opportunity to do just that in your program.
