My name is Lauren Boyd and I am a 2023 student at Smithfield High School in Smithfield, Rhode Island. I play for an 18u Showcase team, Rhode Island Fire N’ Ice (Blue). I have been playing softball since I was 6 years old and my ultimate goal is to play at collegiate level. I am open-minded about colleges and I am interested in studying business or sports training. I am mainly looking for the college that fits me both athletically and academically. What I can offer to a team is hard work, a positive attitude, and determination. I am willing to work hard and I am dedicated to the sport. I primarily play left field, but I also play any other outfield position. My greatest strength in softball is my speed and my hitting. My home to first time is 2.75 seconds. My greatest accomplishment so far is being nominated Offensive MVP and winning the 14u USSSA Northeast National Championship. Growing up, I played all different sports, such as soccer, basketball, cross country, but softball has always been my first love. I also compete in indoor track and field for my high school. I made varsity as a freshman and excelled in the long jump and 55m. I am a very well rounded student and manage to balance sports, school, and family. I also find time to volunteer helping young girls improve their softball skills, and doing service projects for the National Junior Honor Society. In school, I am focused and determined to always do my best. I am a high honors student and I am academically strong in math and science. My goal is to continue to work hard and continue playing the game I love and be a good role-model.
