Leah Saunders '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi Coaches, My name is Leah Saunders and I am in Jr at Smithfield HighSchool in Rhode Island. I am extremely motivated to play softball in college. Softball has been a huge influence and great part of my life. I have been playing since I was 7 years old.  I have learned  and am still learning many qualities along the way such as leadership, time management, caring for your teammates, determination, humbleness, and confidence.  I have been training for many years to get where I am at today. It would be an honor to be recognized by a collegiate coach. I am a very upbeat, hard working, happy player but when its time to be serious I know how to lead the team.  To me, the measure of an athlete is not soley their best stats, but by their character on and off the field. I play center field I love being on defense there is nothing more satisfying than running down a hard hit ball and taking away a hit away from the other team or a home run. At the plate my bat is consistant and I love to use my speed to steal bases.  In school I love to be challenged and try my hardest to meet my personal goals. I am currently in the Teacher preperation Pathway. I am on an advanced pathway and I  am completing this program by the end of my Junior year not senior year.  In future I would like to go to school and beomce and Athletic Director.
