Hi, my name is Samantha Wendel. I am a 5'9" 160 lb freshman starting catcher for a state ranked varsity softball team. We are currently ranked 5th in the state of Texas in Class 3A. I am ranked 13th in my class with a GPA of 3.75. Softball is practically my oxygen. I love it. I love how I can walk on the field and know I’m going to do something great due to the fact that I’ve worked so hard. My days consist of school, practice, homework, sleep, and I wouldn’t change that for anything or anyone. Everyday is an opportunity for me to get better, and I’ll take advantage of that every chance I get. There is such a level of discipline in this amazing game. It’s not something you can work on every other week. It’s something you do everyday, to improve mentally and physically. All the hours of work I’ve put into this game have surely paid off. I have confidence in knowing when I go onto the orange dirt, that in every game I play, I will be have a impact. Softball has been a part of my life since I was six years old, which was the age that I fell in love with the game. I have, and will continue to work hard on my grades and my game. I will always do my best. I will have a good attitude and play my heart out any and every time I set foot on the field. I will wear my jersey with pride and I will show anyone in the stands, in the other dug out, in my own dug out, that I came to play with respect for the game, my team and myself.
