Personal Statement
I have been playing softball since I was 4 years old. In the beginning it was mainly about having fun, but as I grew up it met my need to be competitive. I love playing softball because it helps keep me disciplined. I also love the people I meet and the sense of community around the sport.
I have always been a good student, so college softball is a great opportunity for me to do something I love while pursuing higher education. I also want to compete at the highest level with others who are as competitive as me. Playing college softball will also allow me to grow in experiences that will help me in the future. Playing in college has always been a lifelong dream ever since I started going to college games as a kid.
As someone who is goal-oriented in sports and in life, I think my drive to succeed and to learn from those around me would be what I could add to anyone's team. I work to be a student of the game and putting in the extra time to continually improve my skills. Team is important to me, and I have been the player that coaches know will step up to play wherever I'm needed on the field to support my team.
Having been highly involved with my A&M United Methodist Church youth group, faith, honesty, and integrity are core values I strive to live by in life. These are also values I will look for as I begin to explore potential choices for college.
