My name is Makennah Barrera, and I’m so excited to share my journey as a left-handed pitcher with all of you. My story is about more than just softball, it’s about discovering my passion, working hard, and following God’s plan for my life. It all started when I was just four years old. That’s when I first picked up a glove and started playing softball. I didn’t know it at the time, but that little girl playing catch in the backyard had something special, a love for the game and a gift that would change her life. By the time I turned seven, I was standing on the pitcher’s mound for the first time. There was something about pitching that felt right. I loved the focus, the challenge, and the way I could help my team. It was like the mound was where I belonged, and I completely fell in love with the sport. But my journey wasn’t just about the game. From the beginning, God was the biggest part of it all. I believe He gave me this gift for a reason, and He had a plan for me. There were times when I didn’t understand His plan, times when things were tough, or I felt like I wasn’t good enough. But through every challenge, I prayed and trusted that God was with me.Softball has taught me so much about life, like the importance of hard work, staying humble, and believing in myself. But most of all, it’s shown me how to trust God’s timing. Every pitch, every game, and every moment on the field has my journey so far, I’m grateful for every step. God has blessed me with an incredible gift, and I’m committed to honoring Him with it. Whether I’m on the mound or off the field, I want to use what He’s given me to inspire others when i’m older and show what faith can do.
