My name is Erin Krause and I am a Junior at Cypress Woods High School in Cypress, Texas and play tournament softball with 16U Sudden Impact (formerly Scrap Yard Internationals). I would like coaches to know that I love softball and am willing to go to a school outside of Texas for the right situation. I’ve been playing for a long time starting with little league baseball at age 3 then moving over to softball at age 6. I am frequently complimented on my softball smarts as I stay aware of situations, think ahead, and anticipate what could or will happen next. In addition, I am a team player, who cares about her teammates and consistently encourages them.
Over the past several years, I have played infield for my tournament teams, rotating mainly between 3rd base and 2nd base; however, I have experience at short stop as well. As for batting, I slap, swing away, and can consistently lay down a bunt so I feel I have a lot to offer offensively.
During my Freshman year at Cypress Woods High School, I earned a starting position on the Varsity Softball Team, playing 3rd base and filling the leadoff batter position. In addition, I earned a 1st Team All District Award while maintaining a straight A average and being recognized on the Distinguished Honor Roll. During my Sophomore year, I maintained my position on the Varsity Softball team and although COVID disrupted the year, I was still able to earn Honor Roll recognition when classes unexpectedly transitioned to an online format.
I definitely want to play softball in college and am excited about the opportunities that I will have at the college level. I am hard working, coachable, and will not back down from a challenge and therefore I hope you will consider me as a good addition to your team.
