I lost my mother to Breast Cancer at 5 years of age and have handled adversity at such a young age.  My father has raised me and taught me to be extremely respectful of others and selfless around people.  I am heavily involved with the Special Olympics at HP and have been recognized the past two years for my contributions.  I have never asked or accepted community service hours because I am doing this for the love of these student athletes.  I am extremely reliable.  I have never missed one day of school since kindergarten other than softball tournaments which were excused.  I am extremely organized.  I have balanced my academic life (3.75 GPA) with my Athletic life (3 year starter at catcher going into Sr. year, 3-time HP Defensive Player of the Year, District Catcher of the Year,  .488 junior year, two-time captain).  I am extremely easy and comfortable to talk too.  One of my greatest traits are my friendships with so many different types of students/personalities.  It is extremely important to me to never judge people because they might be different in someway.  All of these lifelong lessons that I have learned by being independent because of my mothers passing has allowed me to handle adversity that not many kids have been through at 17 years old.  The structure my father has instilled in me and my brother has given me experience to adapt to the stresses of college academics and athletics.  I sincerely believe that I can exceed my accomplishments in high school academics and athletics by continuing to grow in both areas as a college student athlete.
