My true love is softball. I play all year around on different teams and take pitching lessons once a week. Last year, I was the only pitcher on my high school softball team and had no one to relieve me whether I got tired or I got hurt. It showed me what it meant to truly persevere. I never faltered and I kept going regardless of what the scoreboard said. I have played softball since I was 8 years old and my love for the game has only increased.
My academics are very important to me. I have been in the top 5 of my graduating class the last three years. I have a full schedule and take Honors, AP, and college credit classes. My work ethics are impeccable and I work hard trying to stay on top. My goal is to become the valedictorian next year and take what I have learned and apply it to college.
Band is near and dear to my heart and I have become an Anchor leader who is in charge of a section of other students. I rarely miss sectionals or summer rehearsals. I am consistent and have made it to All Region band and I was an alternate for the State Regionals. Recently, I performed in a concert with other All Region band members from the area and I will try out this year to be the Drum Major.
I have been a hard worker all of my life. I don't stay home at all and am very busy all year long. I know I can make a positive impact on any team. I have a positive hard-working attitude in practice and during games. I am always respectful and eager to learn. I could not only have a positive influence on your softball team but I will also be successful in my academics in any college.
Thank you for your time,
Victoria G. Rico
