Sophie McElyea 2026
2024 Highlights
February 2024
2021 HighlightsHello! My name is Sophie McElyea, and I am from Hutto, TX.
I started playing softball when I was 4, and it has been a journey. I have dreamed of playing at the collegiate level for as long as I can remember. I have learned that softball is a gift and never to take any of it for granted. Each team I have been on has impacted and taught me something to help me become the young lady I am today. As my hitting coach Nadia Taylor says, "Pressure is a privilege," and that has been something I live by each time I take the field. What I enjoy most is the supportive team environment. The bond I help create with my team by always driving each other to be the best we can be is an indescribable feeling.
My family is my #1 fan, and they do everything to help me be successful. I am currently in 8th grade, and I am taking all honor classes as well as taking algebra for high school credit. I am a part of the National Junior Honor Society and actively play sports for my school. Softball, however, has always been my passion.
I am looking for a University/College that is uplifting and supportive in allowing me to continue the sport I love while pursuing my other dream of practicing medicine.
