Personal Statement

Hello, my name is Ariana (Ari) Hughes, a senior at James E Taylor High School (aka "Katy Taylor") c/o 2025.

I made the Varsity softball team (District 19-6A) when I was a freshman. Some notable career highlights have been leading my team to the playoffs for the first time in 13 years (in 2023), pitching a shutout against Katy High School, and receiving district awards since my freshman year. My most recent awards were a) 1st team All-District Pitcher (Katy ISD) and b) Defensive MVP.

I play select ball with Texas Bombers Academy LS 18U, and my dream is to continue playing softball in college while pursuing a degree in Architecture or Engineering. I love this sport!
