Emma Herzog '23 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'1 outfielder/slapper from La Vernia, Texas. I graduate in 2023 and play on the varsity team at La Vernia High school. I also play select softball with the STX Bombers 16u Gold team. Softball has been a big part of my life, and it's made me into the person I am today. I love softball because I meet great coaches and players that push me to do better, without them I would not be where I am today.  

I feel I would be an asset to any college team. I am a hard worker both on and off the field.  I've maintained a 4.0 GPA my Freshman and Sophomore years in High School. I am dedicated to my softball sisters as I show up to practice ready to give 100%.  I enjoy motivating other players and respect any feedback I receive from my coaches.

I am looking for a college that will support me academically, as well as on the field. The medical field, especially nursing, really interests me and I would like to make that my focus for choosing a major. I've always liked helping others. Over the years, I have participated in many forms of community service: I volunteered at my local church to help with Vacation Bible School, helped feed the homeless with my dad, and made blankets for children in orphanages with my medical terminology class. I would like to become a Nurse Practitioner or OBGYN nurse. 

Financial need will play a large role in what college I will attend. I am willing to travel further distances (still close to Texas) depending on the expense.
