Summer 2011My name is Chelsey Pryor and i am from Athens Texas. I am currently a junior at Cross Roads Highschool and i am very involved. I have attended Cross Roads since kindergarten and plan on becoming a 13 year senior next year. I play every sport offered for girls athletics at Cross Roads Highschool which are, Volleyball, Basketball, Softball, Track, and Golf. I am currently 5ft 4inches and weigh 115 lbs.I am very competitive and determined to accomplish success in both sports and life. I have been raised respectfully and taught right from wrong due to a loving family whom has gotten me to where i am today. Because of my determination i am apart of the student council and beta club at Cross Roads Highschool. In each of these sports i have been a Varsity athlete all three years. Volleyball has been quite a successful sport here at Cross Roads the last three years including regional quarter finals my freshman year playing full rotation and receiving second team. Regional semi finals as a sophomore and playing libero receiving defensive player of the year, and regional finals my junior year; again, as libero receiving defensive MVP. Basketball hasn't been such a success over the years but i enjoy competing and bettering myself. Softball; like volleyball, has been a success also. Freshman year in softball we were regional semi finalists and i received newcomer of the year, Sophomore year we went to state and i received player of the year and all state first base, unfortunately junior year wasn't as successful as sophomore year and our team was out in area. In track i have ran the mile relay and 300 hurdles and have advanced to regional finals every year. In Golf, my freshman year we competed in regional, and sophomore and junior year went to state finishing up 6th place and 5th place. Through sports i would like to have the opportunity to go to college and get a degree in medicines because i would like to be a sports doctor. Although Cross Roads is a small country school, i would like the opportunity to experience something different and life changing. One of my favorite quotes is, "A true champion is someone who wants to make a difference, who never gives up, and who gives everything they've got no matter what the circumstances are. A true champion works hard and never loses sight of their dreams." - author unknown. To myself nearly everything an athlete needs to know is within those quotes such as dedication, modivation, and determination.
