I want to spend my college career setting the tone for my life and also spend my time honing my skills. I have played softball since I was 6 years old, while only moving up to club ball when I was 12. This caused me to be slightly behind the other girls when I first started. So I began to practice on my own outside of when we would practice as a team. This is what I would plan to do when I reach college also, is to work on myself and be the best player I can be, while also helping my teammates when needed.
I am different than many other athletes due to the fact that I put my grades first. I set a rule for myself when I first became a freshman stating that I would never let my GPA drop lower than 3.5. So not only do I have high grades but I also have plenty of time, when I am not at practice with my club team, I work on things my coaches have critiqued before to make me a stronger hitter and player. If I don't understand what they are critiquing I ask questions. While I believe that you are only as strong as your weakest link, I take the time to encourage other girls and help them out if they ask for help. While I would consider myself to have many leadership qualities, I also have a lot of drive and determination also.
