My love for softball started in 10u I joined my first accelerated softball team and I knew after by 12u that I wanted to play at the next level. By the time I got to high school I had already played on a 16u team where everyone was already 2 years older than me. I started varsity at shortstop every game as a freshman until I partially tore my ACL half way through the season. With my season ended I was tempted to give up but I told my Physical Therapist I want to be back by state playoffs. I did the work, the therapy, the strength exercises, anything I could do to be back as soon as possible. Unfortunately, my softball team didn’t make it far in state and I was just 1 week away before I would be released to play. Even though I was only 1 week late I was actually done 2 weeks earlier than they thought I would be when I first started physical therapy. This never discouraged me, this only drove me to be better because I know I am capable of more than I think.
I’m looking forward to what sophomore year will bring me. I have had a 4.0 since 7th grade and I don’t expect it to be any less when I graduate. My goal is to be able to use softball to help me find a school and further my education. I have a drive to be better with everything I do and I love seeing the results that I work for but that makes me want more.
