Hi, I'm McKenna Larson and I go to a very small high school with about 30 kids in my class of 2017. I'm 5'9, the tallest girl in my high school, and weigh 145 pounds. I am from an extremely athletic family and know all the hard work and dedication it takes to play at the college level. My sister, a freshman, plays volleyball at Winona State University and my brother, a junior, is the starting quarterback at Stevens Point University. I have been to many college games and it makes me more and more inspired to work harder towards my childhood dream of playing college softball. I am a three sport athlete playing volleyball, basketball, and softball. My freshman and sophomore years of volleyball I went to state as a starter. In basketball, I've played varsity as a post player both my freshman and sophomore years. This year, as a junior we won conference, regionals, and sectionals in basketball. During my freshman year of softball I had to have surgery on my achilles tendon. It ended up being worse than originally thought so I was out the entire season. When I was able to get back at it, I trained twice as hard to get to where I wanted to be coming into my sophomore year. My sophomore year of softball I made first team all conference pitcher and hold school records for the most strikeouts. I've been wanting to play club softball, but with being in such a small school I am needed in all three sports so I haven't had that opportunity. I am very coachable, have very high expectations for myself, and work extremely hard on and off the field doing what I love. In my free time, I am in the weight room, on the softball field, hunting, or hanging out with friends and family.
In the classroom, I excel at all subjects, study hard, and maintain a 4.0 GPA. I am a member of National Honor Society, help out in my Mom's second grade classroom when I can, and have been in our school's Kinship Program. I want to attend a college where I can work towards my dream job of being an orthodontist while playing softball.
