Austyn Kinch '28 Recruiting Profile

    My name is Austyn Kinch. I attend Mineral Point High School in Mineral Point, Wisconsin. I am currently a sophomore and will graduate with the class of 2028. I am 5’6” and 145 lbs. I work year round on my skills by going to various camps and practices while also actively playing. I currently play for the Stars National 16U Cole traveling team. I am a utility player in the field and a catcher. I have a 1.81 second pop time, 58 mile per hour catcher arm velocity, 59 mile per hour infield velocity, .487 school batting average, and .426 club batting average. I practice batting and fielding for an hour two days a week and lift weights for an hour three days a week. 

During my freshman season, I received first-team all-state, all-district, and all-conference honors while also contributing to my high school’s second trip to the state tournament. I am always looking to improve and learn from my coaches and peers. I offer compassion, empathy, and support to those around me. A large part of what I love about softball is the ability to work with and encourage my teammates. Teamwork is extremely important to me because it is crucial to a team’s success. I always strive to be the best teammate on and off the field.

Time management and dedication have been the key to my development which allow me to be successful on and off the field, being a two sport athlete and actively participating in extra-curricular activities. I have maintained honor roll status throughout my middle school and high school career. My current GPA is a 3.95 on a 4.0 scale, and I would like to pursue a career in the field of healthcare. My aspiration is to continue my education while playing the sport I know and love. I strive to belong to a school that challenges me physically and mentally.
