Laina Hammen '24 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing softball since I was 4 years old. I am a very hard-working athlete. My primary position is catcher, and I also enjoy playing 3rd, 1st, or outfield. As a freshman, I was the starting varsity catcher and received FVA 2nd Team All-Conference recognition. I have continued to be a starter in both my sophomore and junior years and was awarded FVA HM All-Conference and FVA 2nd Team All-Conference, respectively those years. My career aspiration is to work in the medical field.

I'm not just an athlete; I am also a very good student. I have shown my ability to balance school and sports well. I have a 3.91 GPA which includes college courses, and I compete in three sports: softball, basketball, and cross country. I also enjoy helping others. I participate in our school's connected program, which helps kids with disabilities, and I volunteer at events in my community.
