Personal Statement
Growing up I have played a variety of sports. I started with gymnastics at the age of three and began basketball at the age of 5. Over the next several years, I participated in dance, softball, swimming, diving, and tennis, but quickly realized basketball is what I loved. Basketball has always been my passion! I am a determined, motivated, and coachable player. My first season of high school basketball is with the Lady Lions Junior Varsity Team at Sardis High School. My goal is to continue basketball throughout high school as a varsity player, and at the collegiate level, while furthering my education. Education is very important to me. My parents have challenged me to strive for my best effort on and off the court. I am currently enrolled in AP and Honors classes. I would like to participate in dual enrollment later in high school. Outside of school and basketball, I am very involved in my local church, youth group, and foreign missions. My family started a mission organization to spread the Gospel of Jesus on the Amazon River in Brazil. Each summer, I go on a trip down the Amazon ministering to the people of river villages through Bible clubs, eyeglass clinics, flip flop clinics, children's activities, and door to door evangelism. These mission trips have taught me how blessed I am to live in a country with many opportunities, and the ability to pursue my dreams of the future.
