My name is Kenya I'm from Anchorage, Alaska. I attend Bette Davis East High School, at this moment I am a freshmen, i have been playing basketball for 6 years and still going. I started in 3rd grade I kept begging my mom to let me play, I feel like the reason why I fell in love with this sport because when I was little I used to watch the NBA with my whole family and I had a dream as a little girl to be one of those people on the court and I will make it a reality. With the sport comes hard work, dedication, and discipline, I'm ready to trust the process and to believe that I can achieve anything. The starting of 7th grade I fell into a deep depression and me believing in myself was one of my hardest obstacles ever and I overcame it. When I'm on the court it is like everything goes away and I just see myself on the court by myself I tend to ignore everything else that's happening on or off the court and go into total focus. I usually play point guard or shooting guard I can pass the ball when teammates are open and shoot the ball pretty well, I can also drive the ball into the paint pretty good especially at my height. I also do community service with my high school coach and other teammates. For my freshman year and the rest of my years I am going to try my absolute hardest to average a 3.5 although all you need is a 2.5 or higher to play high school sports, I play flag football and basketball. This is my story and again my name is Kenya Bruno.
