My name is Sierra Dudar, I am 16 years old. I grew up watching my sister playing club basketball in Calgary and I knew that I wanted to play as soon as I could, so I began attending Sunday academy sessions when I was four. My mom played high school basketball and went on to play post secondary at North Idaho College. I have spent my whole life in a gym and I wouldn’t want it any other way. Playing post secondary has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl. Watching my sister go on to play for York College was the most exciting thing for me as a kid. Watching my sister succeed made me determined to become a great player so I could attend post secondary as well.
I won MVP for my grade eight team in 2021 and I went on to win Coaches Choice in grade nine. Middle school basketball was an amazing experience and I had so much fun playing with my team. I recently made my high school senior team as a grade ten, and I am looking forward to representing Holy Trinity Academy as a basketball player.
I have been playing club with United Storm Basketball for years. I played on their U15 team and played up on the High School team. The training is hard but the results I have seen make it all worth it. I believe that the tough conditioning has prepared me mentally and physically for the next level. As a club we travelled down to Las Vegas for the last two summers and I loved it. Playing in the states for post secondary would be a dream come true for me.
