My name is Madeline Hackman and I am a forward with a big heart and big dreams. I can help out any team by playing a top notch defensive game, sinking baskets from the parameter, and doing the job my coach and team has asked me to do. If you bring me into your organization, you will not be disappointed.
Basketball found me at age 11. Prior to that, my focus and attention was primarily on dance and music. Being the tallest girl on my elementary basketball team and naturally athletic, basketball felt like second nature. I was the first to arrive for the morning practices and was often the last to leave. I was awarded player of the year that first year for my dedication and commitment. Upon entering high school, my basketball success continued. In grade 8 I was the highest points scorer, named to the provincial team, and was the recipient of the basketball award for the high school. A highlight from grade 9 was being given the opportunity to join my sister and the senior girls basketball team at provincials. I got floor time and even some points!
After COVID I played two seasons - grade 11 and 12 - for my Highschool team. In addition, I played on a travelling AAU club basketball team called Athelite out of Surrey, British Columbia. During this time I travelled throughout Washington, Oakland, Nashville, Kentucky, Dallas, and Orlando. It was an amazing experience in which I grew immensely as a player and teammate.
After Highschool I was fortunate enough to earn a Division II basketball scholarship to a college in Delaware. This too was a valuable experience - enabling me to round out my game making me a greater threat on the floor.
I have recently put myself in the NCAA portal in the hopes to find a school where I can finish my degree and continue to grow as a basketball player.
I am a great candidate for your school because you have never met a person more determined then me. I will take the bumps and bruises, the ups and downs and I will keep coming back for more. I play the game and live my life the same way, with intensity, decisiveness, and heart.
Thank you for your consideration.
