Basketball has always been there for me and the game has given me valuable lessons that I still carry to this day both on and off the court. Hard work, sacrifice, teamwork—traits of the game that I truly value. I am oftentimes not the tallest player on the court, but I give my all and I always try my best.
What separates me from other students is how I balance both athletics and academics in my life. Academics has always been extremely important to me and I maintain a high GPA in my time in high school. I am humbled to express that with hard work in the classroom I have ranked 6/118 academically in my junior year.
Most importantly, what separates me from other players is my sacrificial attitude toward the game. I have always been a team player ever since I was young, but I can also contribute to the team as an individual with the skills that I have improved over the years of playing. I am not the flashiest person on the court, but my fundamentals are solid, I have a high basketball IQ, and my ability to defend is the greatest asset of my game. I have been around 5’3”- 5’4” since I was in 7th grade and with that, I was able to adapt from becoming a center to a point guard which means I can be of use as a player wherever I am needed because I am comfortable in all positions. I am a very coachable player and a leader who leads by example both on and off the court.
My goal is to become the best basketball player I am capable of becoming and use the game of basketball to connect and inspire others, while teaching them the same values that basketball has instilled in me and much more. Being able to compete at the collegiate level is a dream, that I am willing to make to a reality one day.
