Laura Gensert '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Laura Gensert and I have a strong desire to play college basketball!  I am a leader among my peers (on and off the court), and have been a starter on my school's varsity team for my freshman, sophomore and junior years.  In addition to playing high school basketball, I have played on a traveling AAU team for five years.  Because I love the game, I have dedicated much of my time to personal fitness and skills work.  Additionally, I have learned a lot about life’s challenges through playing basketball.  I am very versatile on the court, as I've played all 5 positions over the years and I believe that I have a strong basketball IQ. 

The success of my team is very important to me and this quality was instilled in me by my coaches.  Having played on teams that both possess and lack a family-like team culture, I've realized that a close-knit and positive culture is most enjoyable and productive for the players and coaches, and contributes to the team's overall success.  I hope to find a college program where I can make a difference and contribute to both the team culture and the team's success.
