Ay’Maya Murchison '23 Recruiting Profile

Ay'Maya Murchison is my name, I have been a basketball player since the fifth grade. Currently a senior at Bard DC, I spent my entire high school career playing at our partner school, H.D. Woodson Senior High School. My objective is to get a feel of collegiate student-athlete life. I want to broaden my knowledge of sports outside of basketball and to be able to help athletes be successful by taking care of their bodies. I discovered that I needed to be coachable in order to succeed as an athlete, and after I did, I changed and developed into the coachable player I needed to be. I volunteer at a homeless shelter, am a mentor, have a 4.1 GPA, and participated in SGA, among many other activities. There is more to being an athlete than merely being on the court or field.
