I, Courtney Davis, a basketball player, value positive relationships with coaches and teammates as well as a positive culture. I want to be known as the best passing, hardest working, and most dedicated player on my team. I believe that a great basketball player is not only talented, but they make those around them better. My work ethic and desire to improve is my most positive characteristic and I believe that is one thing that will help me stand out from other recruits. I work hard every day to be the first one in the gym and the last one to leave, always trying to make myself better and challenging my teammates to get better along with me.
I have played basketball since I was 6 years old and have played competitively since the fifth grade. During my years of playing AAU and high school varsity basketball, I've quickly discovered that no matter how good you currently are or how hard you're working, there is always someone working just as hard. I have faced some of the toughest competition in my class and across the country and while we have not won every game, we have gained valuable experiences and learned to never back down from a challenge.
As a high school varsity athlete, I've learned a lot about leadership and what it takes to be a leader both on and off the court, and in the classroom.
I believe that I can contribute something positive to any team and pray for the opportunity to continue to play this amazing sport while gaining an excellent college education.
