My name is Amanda Nelson and I am a current senior at Pickens High School, located in the North Georgia area. My collegiate goals are to become a well-educated young woman on a campus that can contribute to my success on and off the court. I believe that the sport of basketball will play a big role in helping me round out my college experience. I would consider myself to be a potential asset to any college campus and basketball program because of my work ethic, leadership abilities, and positive attitude. Throughout my academic and athletic career, I have managed to maintain quality grades, while also accomplishing athletic achievements. I will be task-oriented, on time, and willing to listen to constructive feedback to improve.
My academic experiences in the classroom have been filled with multiple AP and honors classes. Through my hard work in the classroom, I have maintained a 4.0 and I am consistently in the top 15 of my class. My athletic experiences have made me a 4 year varsity starter, gotten me to three state tournament births, a region championship, along with a trip to the Elite 8. The amount of work, expectations, and commitments attached to being apart of those team have forced me to understand the level of work and intensity that is necessary to compete at the highest level.
I believe that I would be an asset to any college community that is willing to give me a chance. My goal is to make a positive impact on any program I can be apart of. The only requirement needed is an opportunity. I eagerly await the chance to prove my worth.
