There’s something special about being a key contributor to a team that is intensely focused on a common goal. I want to be a member of a team that is willing to put everything on the line for each other because when that happens, anything can be accomplished.
I have always lead by example, but I have learned over the past year how important it is for me to use my voice as well on the court to be an effective leader. Some people call me a workaholic because I maintain a 4.0 GPA while playing on two club teams doing double practices, as well as training on my own, but I just want to be the best player and teammate I can be. I love to study the game and learn those “1 percenters” (the little things that make a big difference), so that I can apply them and share them with my teammates.
One of my favorite quotes sums up my approach to basketball:
Bear Bryant said, “It’s not the will to win that matters – everyone has that. It’s the will to prepare to win that matters.”
I am seeking an opportunity to contribute my team-first attitude, leadership and work ethic to a team that shares my commitment to the preparation to win.
