Personal Statement
My deep love for softball stems from the competitive opportunities it gives me and the way it has brought me out of my shell. I was always shy until I found softball, which gave me a comfortable, supportive environment where I could take charge and let my voice be heard. Now, I make it a goal to be a leader and the loudest one on the field. My whole life, I have been taught how important hard work and persistence are, and softball solidifies that even more for me every day. One of my biggest personal athletic accomplishments was being a starter on varsity as a freshman, but my sophomore spring was very difficult because Covid allowed us to only play a few games. Because of this, I had to motivate and challenge myself throughout our lockdown to work out and improve my softball skills every day. The sport I love has taught me to never give up, which not only helps me succeed in it but in school as well. I strive to keep my GPA high and enroll in advanced, college-level, or AP classes to challenge myself. I am currently taking three AP classes and have three more on my schedule for next year. I plan to major in a degree that will help me get into medical school and set me on the path of becoming a physical therapist or athletic trainer because I would love to work with people I can relate to, such as athletes. I would also like to attend a college with access to a variety of outdoor activities because I love hiking, biking, fishing, boating, swimming, etc.
