Playing on varsity my freshman year was an eye opening opportunity that many do not come by. Not only did I continue to play on varsity my sophomore year but was a full time starter the entire season. By the end of the season I was a reginal champion, All-Conferance Honorable Mention, Kane County Chronicle All-Area Honorable mention, and Fox All-Area Honorable Mention.
Over the past year I have put all of my effort into working on not just my shot but the little things like finding the right pass, finishing through contact, and reading the court at a faster pace. One of my biggest goal for my sophomore season was to improve my defensive skills. By the end of the season I was guarding the best player on the court and causing 5 second calls, turnovers, and offensive fouls by the opposing team. Being on varsity was an honor but came with obstacles, the biggest of which was the increase in the speed of the game. The mixing up of defenses, the different offensive sets, and the extra increased need to learn my opponent added to the difficult adjustment. However I learned that the challenges made me stronger as a person and better as a player.
