My name is Emily Atsinger, I am 5’7” and 150 lbs point/shooting guard. I have been playing basketball since 1st grade and began playing year-round in 6th grade. I play AAU with the Illinois Defenders with Annie Byrne as my coach and have started varsity my first 2 years at Lincoln Way West High School, coached by Ryan White. I will graduate with the class of 2017.
By nature, I am a defensive player first. I am always assigned, and thrive on stopping, the top guard on the opposing team. Offensively, I’m a strong and confident ball handler that prides herself on crisp passing. Half way through my sophomore year, I’m averaging 13.4 points per game with 3.2 assists per game, and a shooting average of 46.3% from the field. My free throw percentage is 71.2% and leading the team in free throw attempts.
I work very hard both on and off the court. In addition to practice and games during season, I also have private shooting and skills training as well as work with strength trainers three times a week. Additionally, I lettered in both golf and track my freshman year.
I consider myself a very serious, disciplined, coachable, competitive player who works best in a disciplined environment. I thrive in strong team environments and enjoy good relationships with my coaches.
I am interested in perusing a computer engineering degree with a desire to enter Federal Law Enforcement upon graduation.
