My name is Anaya Seldal. I am a freshman at the Indiana Institute of Technology majoring in Psychology.
I have been told my whole life I’ll never be able to play at a high level of basketball because of my size. I have used that as a motivation to push me harder to expand my skills to be better than my opponent. I am the player who shows up an hour before everyone and leaves an hour after everyone because I know I have to work harder than others. I show great leadership on and off the court by supporting teammates, and helping them succeed at their own personal goals.
I think connecting mentally and bonding with teammates and coaches is just as important as practicing with them. I love getting to know everyone on a deeper level because I feel it builds trust, chemistry, and confidence within the team. I choose to bring in a positive mindset everyday to practice and workouts to maintain a high energy environment because I feel that is when I am at the very top of my game.
