I AM ADDICTED TO THE GAME
My name is Olayinka Odedoyin. I started out being that only girl who played basketball with all the guys on the playground court in elementary school. And then I realized that I wanted to play basketball competitively so that's where my basketball journey began..
My goals are to learn from my mistakes, become one of the best dribblers in the game, to become a very good defender, to never give up no matter what, work hard every single day and to show how much I love the game of basketball. What makes me a good candidate for any College/University team is that I am a hard worker, I am a leader, I want to improve every single day and I love the game so much.
What makes me different from other recruits is that I show leadership, respect and responsibility. I am a very good defensive player. I love stealing the ball and blocking the ball from players that are much taller than me. I love making big plays for my team, it makes me happy because I help myself and my teammates as well. I am very athletic; people around my school know me as an athlete, I was athlete of the week out of my whole high school and in middle school, I was selected as the top 5 to win athlete of the year. I am a healthy person and I exercise every single day. I am a honor roll student because I work hard, do all my homework and follow all the requirements.
Ever since I was young, my dream is to get a scholarship to a college/university in the States so one day I can play professionally. Over the past few years I improved on my game so much by improving on my free throws, driving to the basket a lot more, getting those and ones, making beautiful passes to my teammates so that they can get an open shot, improving my form when I take a shot by practicing in front of the mirror every time I wake up and also communication.
As a Canadian girl who loves basketball, I want to prove to a lot of people that it is possible for a girl like me who works hard everyday to get a chance to play basketball in the states and to follow their dreams.
