Mikayla Markley '19 Recruiting Profile

Grades and academics always come first. I really would like to find a school who has my field of study and a school where I will enjoy playing as an athlete. I have always been a huge team player. I personally think that the athlete's who think they are the whole team don't get very far individually or with their team. I believe that team chemistry is huge, especially for basketball. Having team chemistry leads to running plays correctly and efficiently and also helps you better understand your teammates on the court. My coach has always told us "You practice like you play." I see that statement to be true. Going 100% every practice leads to giving 100% in games. I accept my failures. My failures just teach me what I need to work on and push me to do better.  

I am so excited to start my next adventure in college and hope I get the opportunity to continue to compete in the sport I live and breathe for with athlete's who share the same passion for the sport as I do!
