I think it is funny to ask someone what makes them different. Every human being is different. Now if you want to know that Basketball is my 3rd True & Genuine Love ( 1. God & 2. Family). I think being a Coaches kid has it Goods & Bads, but the thing I have learned the most is giving 110%, Working Hard, being Coachable, & most of being a great teammate. My Dad / Club Coach always tells us that “YOUR WORD & CHARACTER” mean the most. Because if people doubt either their is “NO TRUST”.
Since I have been 6 years old all I have dreamed about was playing College Basketball & on to the WNBA. I now don’t think of it as a dream but a mission. I work very hard on the Fundamentals: Free Throws, Shooting, Dribbling, & Passing / Court Vision. Passing and/or Court Vision my Dad told me is most important since I was in 2nd grade. I get as much as Adrenaline making a great pass to a teammate as I do making 3’s. So what makes me different: 1. I want the Ball with 5 seconds left, I am a Leader, I will push my teammates, and my Character.
Academically I want to pursue Sports Administration. I want to be involved in Athletics at a Management level someday. Being a good student means just as much as being a great basketball player. I hear it all the time, if you don’t make B’s or better. You will sit the bench.
In closing I would like to Thank the College Coaches who recruit me in advance. If you are looking for a Leader or is a Great Teammate, Shooter, and Passer. Who will push everyone on the team. Then I am looking forward to talking during the process.
Sincerely,
Laynie Sue Winfrey #3
