Personal Statement
Hi, I'm Caitlyn McCoy. I am a 2025 point/shooting guard. At any given time I can switch up my position to fit my team and coach's needs. As long as I can remember I have always loved basketball and that love continues to grow everytime I step on the court. Playing college basketball is one of my biggest goals that I have right now. I try and work more and more towards that everyday. As an athlete I feel I am a hard worker, I'm determined and driven, I've been told I'm an incredibly positive player, and have been told I am very coachable. I play basketball year round. In the winter, I have school season where I start for my varsity team. Spring, I have my biggest AAU season with MBC where we travel all over for the biggest tournaments. Summer is where I grind. I attend camps, I train with some of the best trainers in Maine including Kristina Blais and Tyc Snow, I also do strength training with the trainer at MBC. As well as I also have my summer school season. The fall kind of mellows out and I have a fall MBC season to help get ready for school season. I will show up to everything ready to go and I will work as hard as possible during practices, games, or trainings. After finishing my first year of high school I really matured basketball wise. I have realized what work I really need to put in and where my focus needs to be. Basketball is pretty much my everything and I wouldn't have it any other way. I love stepping on the court. But of course, none of this happens without being a student first. I finished my first year of high school one of the highest in my class with a GPA of 3.8. I take my academics very seriously. I'm in all advanced classes and in every single one of these classes I do everything I can to succeed. I turn my work in early or on time, and my work is turned in only after I have double checked everything with great precision. Going into my later years of high school I plan to continue and rise academically and athletically. I am willing to do anything to help out my team, get to where I need to be, and I will never take for granted the opportunity of stepping on a court. My work I put in now is all leading up to college level athletics, that's where I want to be!
