Sarah Townsend '15 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing basketball since I was in grade 4 and fell in love with the sport and the competition instantly. Since then, I have played at many different levels and continue to work hard at all aspects of my game. Throughout this time, I have been fortunate to have had some great coaches as well as great teammates to help me improve my skills.

I have been told, and I believe that I have a high basketball IQ with good court vision and ball sense. I can see the whole court clearly and know what my teammates are doing and where they're going. I am very comfortable handling the ball with either hand and go to my left just as well as I can go to my right. I take pride in my shooting ability and have worked very hard to be able to hit a variety of shots, including three pointers, with good consistency. On and off the court I take pride in my integrity and sportsmanship with teammates, opponents, coaches and referees. I am a very compassionate and helpful person and I strive to be the first one to help wherever help is needed.I work very hard to not only balance academics and athletics, but to excel at both.

I have never been a very aggressive person outside of sports but I like to be driven to perform not only out on the basketball court but at school as well. School always comes first no matter what but basketball is an extremely close second so I am open to any options that are presented to me. Ever since I was little I always felt like that silent leader that encouraged others and led by example while also being confident enough to speak up when I felt it was needed.

   No matter what team I have played on, I have always given 110% on and off the court and have committed to being a good representative of my school and club teams. I will commit to giving you, your team and your school that same effort.
