Personal Statement
From the moment I saw my older sister playing basketball, I knew that I wanted to play better than her. Everyday after that I would watch her practicing and I would even join in. I began playing on my school team in sixth grade, and I soon realized that I had a lot to learn. I wanted not only to prove to others that I could play but also to prove to myself that I was able to play. I put my head down and went to work, being put on the JV team as an 8th grader and going through tough practices and scrimmaging against the varsity players at the age of 14. When I moved on to high school the hard practices seemed to only strengthen my will to be on the varsity line up as a freshman. We went on to win the first district tittle since 2014. After a loss in the regional finals, I knew that like my sixth grader self, I still had work to do. This only served to fuel my readiness for my last year on varsity. Ever since 6th grade I had the dream to play basketball at a college level.
