First and foremost. I LOVE THIS GAME. I've been a starter for our high school basketball time since 8th grade. I play AAU basketball for Minnesota Rise Girls. I love to watch college basketball, play the game as well as compete.
My parents taught me that in life you have to do more than just show up, but show-up and invest yourself, be a role model and show not only youth in the community but also your peers what hard work and integrity can create for you.
My experiences have taught me so many lessons as I navigate down my path of life. Not only have I learned about hard work and dedication but I’ve learned about investing. When I’m not working on grades, sports, robotics, mock trial or on the farm, I volunteer my time with the youth in my community. I help coach youth soccer as well as referee. I work with youth 4-H students on projects and activities. I spread my love of agriculture and educate others through FFA.
It’s so important to invest yourself into the community in which you live. Volunteering your time can go a long way in making someone’s life better. I have watched my parents invest themselves and volunteer in our communities my whole life. Investing yourself is about “paying in forward,” in hopes that others will follow suit and invest themselves also. Volunteering and investing your time are one of the biggest things you can do, to make the world we live in happier and healthier.
