Kayla Oetterer '12 Recruiting Profile

I have wanted to play basketball at the college level since I started playing my 5th grade year. It has been my goal to push myself to be the best that I can be to make this happen. I have dedicated my time to playing summer ball, attended camps in addition to the demand of high school varsity sports. I worked hard my freshman year and was able to move up to play varsity basketball. I helped lead my team to the district championship game. My 10th grade year I was a varsity starter. I lead the team with 521 points. I was first team all conference, all district and prep cast player of the game. We won districts my 10th year. Recently I led my team to win the third place trophy at the South Callaway Tournament and I was named to the All Tournament Team. I have won honors at every basketball camp that I have attended. The summer of 2010 I was awarded the post player/rebounder award at Central Missouri State. At the Snow Valley Basketball School I also won the rebounder/post award. My coaches have complimented me on how strong I am and I play bigger than I am. (5'10, 155) I traveled and played with Missouri Rockets, Phenom and the Elite. This summer I plan on traveling with Missouri Impact Basketball out of St. Charles. It is my dream to earn a scholarship to play college basketball. I am open to any size college, but would prefer a smaller school with a family like feel to it. I would also like to not move too far from home so my family can come and support me at my games. I want to go to a school where I will receive a high quality education and get to play the sport I love. I feel I am a leader, hard worker and a dedicated individual on and off the court,and have a lot to offer your program. I am really looking forward to the rest of my junior season. My goal is to reach my 1000 point milestone by the end of this season. (260 to go!) I am hopeful that this season or next I can help my team reach the final four at state.
