Samantha Mikos '19 Recruiting Profile

    I am a 5'11" Junior from Freehold New Jersey. I've been a captain and a leading role model for my teams since the 4th grade. A team is as good as its weakest player, so as a leading role model to my teammates, it is necessary to support and pick up my teammates at all times. I am dedicated to my team because my team is like a family to me.

    While I am a leader on the court, I am also a leader off the court. With my exquisite grades in honors classes, and Advanced Placement in US History and Biology and an understanding of our core classes, I provide great leadership skills outside of basketball, as well, by tutoring and assisting any kids who need academic help. I know what it takes to succeed on and off the court. With a 99.6 grade point average and my many athletic achievements, back-to-back shore conference champions for example, I know the meaning of time management and having to equally balance out my school life and my athletic life.

    What makes me unique and diverse from other players is that with my height, I can play any position from a shooting guard to a big man down in the post. I am up for any challenge and I will never stop until I succeed. I am an intelligent young woman who wants to attend a college that will challenge me academically and athletically. I want to major in medicine and become a pediatrician. I hope that basketball can help me become even more of a leader and role model for others, as well as help my professional career in the long run.
