From a young age I found basketball to be a profound passion of mine and developed the desire to continue to grow as a player and play at the college level. In life I am a strong-minded person and have just found myself to be an all-around leader especially on the court where I always encourage and lead my teammates in both AUU and school basketball. But also, off the court where I am always openminded and will listen and give advice to my teammates to build better relations. I am constantly looking to improve my game in all aspects whether if it's practices, getting extra shots up late at night, or going to the gym to stay fit.
Unlike some, I take criticism from coaches and players and use it as motivation to grow as a player and get to the next level. On the court, I use my high IQ of the game to make quick decisions that will not only help my team succeed but also push us all to play with higher IQ. As a player I not only strive to be good on offense but believe that defense is so important in basketball and always put all my effort on both sides of the court. Which helps to overall bring up the energy on the entire team and translate to the game.
Academically, I have a great balance between basketball and school to maintain my high GPA. I am a high honor roll student in all advanced classes and study hard to excel in all my classes and receive good grades. In the summer, I volunteer at my school's youth basketball camp and volunteer with a dog rescue shelter. Additionally, I also work at a sports facility, Northsport where I manage the clock and books. As a person I have always found myself wanting to give back to my country for all the opportunities it has given me and am strongly interested in a college that offers ROTC although I am not limited to that. I am looking for a college that will challenge and push me both on the court and in the classroom to be the best version of myself.
