My name is Jade duffin and I am 16 years old. I have been playing basketball for 9 years now and I have loved it ever since. Basketball fills a hole for me that no other sport can, as soon as I walk on that court everything just disappears. I have loved playing sports forever but I definitely fell in love with basketball. You may be thinking what’s so special about me and what makes me different from the other people out there. I have truly put everything that I have into basketball I spend my time off at the gym and always mentally preparing myself for the next game. It has also been a struggle for me to do AAU especially with my mom being a single mother. My mom has always encouraged me to do my best and always will and I appreciate her for that because my mom is definitely the reason I have come so far in basketball. My goal when I get out of high school is to have a scholarship to college for basketball and to also study Athletic training. What I think makes me a good candidate for college teams is I have a big goal in life for basketball and I think I can truly push my limits and reach my goal. I’ve never given up on myself and my dream since I was kid because I know that if I push hard enough people and coaches will start to see me and hopefully give me a chance to show them what I can do. I work on the court for myself and my mom I want to be able to tell my mom I did it I finally came so far and completed my dream. I’ve had a lot of people tell me I’m not good enough or that I will never make it and I truly hope that one that I can be on there tv’s at home playing my game out there on the court. I don’t think that I am better then any other kid in NCSA but what makes me different from them is that I have struggled in life and I bet everyone else has but I get out on that court to beat myself to show myself that I can do it and that I can make It to college and play basketball and that I can be an athletic trainer one day. I may be young but I believe that everyone has a dream that they can accomplish if they put their all in that dream. I thank NCSA for helping me out to reach my goal and giving me an opportunity to show the world who I am.
