Isabella Petrocci '24 Recruiting Profile

Ever since I began playing in grade school , I have loved the game of basketball. I take advantage of every opportunity to improve , whether that’s through camps that I have attended with USA Basketball, school camps and open gyms and private workouts. I also find it’s really important to be a good teammate, giving high fives to my teammates, texting them to motivate them and being a leader most importantly by example.  On the floor, I’m focused on making the right basketball play and being coachable, which means that I hold myself accountable.  I work very hard at making sure that I also focus on my academic performance, because I am a student athlete.  Whether it’s 80 degrees  or 20 I go out and get my work in.  It’s my goal to be a great player but it’s my priority to be a great person and teammate. I believe that due to my personality and priorities, I played the most minutes on my varsity team in the 8th grade and this year have been selected as a captain and also selected by my coaches to represent the team on our student athletic council which is focused on performing community service in both our district and local community.  I focus on my fundamentals and always am looking for ways to add a skill or improve.  But most of all, the place that I am happiest , is sharing a ball and a game with my teammates. I believe that my character is more important than my statistics.  I believe in contributing to a positive culture and committing to my teammates and my coaches. I believe that scoreboard and not scorebook is the most important thing to me.
